Examples:
It affected Catholic Europe by creating structures and beliefs of Europe that would be prevalent in the modern times. It also allowed for new religious and political freedoms, but that came at great costs in regards to wars and violent acts, such as the Thirty Years' War. It did much to shape European colonization of the Americas, for Roman Catholic powers sought to win souls in the Americas for the Church, while Protestant nations viewed the Catholic Church as corrupt and exploitative and stuck to that of Christianity. |

It became the official established church of Britain and is part of the government, for King Henry VIII placed himself as the head of the Church of England. The church also maintained most Catholic doctrines and practices, as well as supports both the protestant faith and Catholicism. It gives England its belief system and identity among religion. |

The Jesuit order played an important part of the Counter Reformation, in which they succeeded in converting millions around the world to Catholicism. They also increased the amount of work in education on all levels, for they were active in politics, education, and missionary work and the number of Jesuits working in mission fields exceeded any other religious orders. |

As a devout Catholic, Philip II used the wealth and power of Spain to attempt to bring down the Protestants, helping those in support of the Counter Reformation. However, his attempts to impose Roman Catholicism on England and the Netherlands to defend it against Protestantism resulted in the end of Spain's golden century, as well as Spain's "Invincible Armada" |
